A Tudor Barn Wedding in South East London – Charis & Simon’s Wonderful Timeless Celebration

Tudor Barn Wedding

This Tudor Barn Eltham Wedding was set in one of the most picturesque parts of south east London. Tudor Barn stands as a picturesque venue, providing the perfect backdrop for a wedding that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity. Recently, Aidan & I had the pleasure of attending a wedding at this charming location, where love, laughter, and simplicity took centre stage. In this blog post, we’ll take you through the highlights of this Tudor Barn wedding day, offering a glimpse into the magic that unfolded at this Tudor-inspired haven.

Tudor Barn Wedding Ceremony

The wedding at Tudor Barn was unique from the start. While the bride and groom were already officially married, they chose to host a non-official ceremony at the venue. The ceremony, led by a dear friend, followed the structure of a typical wedding, with heartfelt promises to each other and an exchange of rings. One delightful twist was the decision for the bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony, capturing a beautiful moment that set the tone for the day.

The bridesmaids added a touch of sophistication to the affair, donning elegant navy blue dresses and the groomsmen wore mismatching suits, emphasising the casual style to this Tudor Barn wedding. The rustic charm of the barn was complemented by white and green flower decorations, creating a visually stunning contrast.

The confetti photo was a particular favourite of mine, the staff at Tudor Barn were really helpful in organising the guests outside the main barn doors so that our couple could exit under a shower of confetti. Despite the threat of rain, we remained dry throughout the day.

To set the mood for the day, carefully curated playlists played before and after the ceremony, creating an atmosphere of celebration. We captured some wonderful couple portraits around Wells Hall Pleasaunce, using is a beautiful Italian style garden, fountains and bridges over the moat around Tudor barn.

The couple opted for a simple yet elegant décor theme, avoiding anything overly cumbersome. Small flower centerpieces adorned each table, adding a touch of romance to the rustic setting. The venue itself contributed to the ambiance with flowers delicately placed on the ceiling beams, creating an enchanting atmosphere throughout.

The speeches were full of laughter, and ended with a wonderful toast from the bridesmaids to celebrate the wedding

Dry flowers took center stage as both centerpieces on the tables and the bride’s bouquet. The choice of dry flowers not only added a vintage touch to the décor but also served as a lasting memento of the day, preserving the beauty of the occasion. The gardens were full of beautiful wildflowers, including some lavender, and the subtle colours of different trees, provided a stunning backdrop for some photographs at golden hour.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, a skilled DJ took over from 7pm, ensuring that the dance floor remained alive with energy well into the night. The festoon lighting, adorning the terrace outside of Tudor barn, created the perfect backdrop for some late evening portraits, as well as a final shot of the couple underneath the lights before our departure.

The Tudor Barn Wedding in Eltham proved to be the perfect setting for a wedding that combined classic charm with a modern twist. The simplicity of the décor, the elegance of the colours, and the thoughtful details woven into every aspect of the day made it a celebration to remember.

If you’re considering a Tudor Barn wedding, rest assured that this venue offers a timeless backdrop for creating memories that will last a lifetime.
