Boxgrove Priory Wedding
Welcome to the enchanting world of a Boxgrove Priory Wedding – The Priory of St Mary and St Blaise White Knights, where love stories come to life amidst the historic charm of its surroundings. Nestled in the serene countryside, Boxgrove Priory sets the stage for a wedding celebration that transcends the ordinary. Definitely, one of the most beautiful churches I’ve ever seen! Join us as we delve into the delightful details of Georgia & Tom’s wedding, where every moment was infused with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Wedding prep at the family home
We started the day at the family home, where Georgia got ready for the wedding with her family and bridesmaids. Mum helped her put on the dress and Dad got the car (A beautiful Morgan) ready for the wedding at Boxgrove Priory.
The bouquets and colours were a symphony of Sage Green and Sunflowers, these colours looked really stylish for a late September wedding, and this was the palette that painted the ambiance of our Boxgrove Priory wedding.
Boxgrove Priory Wedding Ceremony
From the arrival at the church to the grand entrance at the hall, every moment was a journey in style. The bride and her father made a memorable entrance in a classic Morgan car, while the mother of the bride and a few bridesmaids followed suit in a luxurious Bentley.
I met Tom at the church for a couple of photographs with his groomsmen before Georgia arrived to be escorted down the aisle alongside her father. The ceremony was a wonderful affair, with plenty of space in the church for me to move around without disturbing the ceremony.
I really love Sussex weddings, and this historic location is one of my favourites. We took a few shots at the actual priory building adjacent to the church, which has fallen into ruin, but still looked magnificent for family group photos and a few couple shots with the light streaming down against the historic flint walls. The weather was glorious, and casting dappled light for a couple more photos with the Morgan wedding car, before we took a short two minute stroll across the road to the Boxgrove village hall for canapés, drinks and a game of rounders!
Boxgrove Priory Wedding Reception
From the elegantly decorated hall, adorned with fairy lights and paper lanterns, to the illuminated lights and gin bottle centerpieces, every corner exuded warmth and charm.
No wedding is complete without indulging in culinary delights, and our Boxgrove Priory celebration was no exception. Guests were treated to an array of delectable canapés, including a crisp wall (literally, a wall of packets of classic British crisps!) and Tom’s mum’s famous home-cooked sausage rolls. And let’s not forget the pièce de résistance – a magnificent cheese wedding cake, standing tall with six tiers of savoury goodness.
And for those who preferred a touch of nostalgia, rounders provided a delightful outdoor activity, adding an extra layer of fun to the festivities, and a challenging subject to photograph without getting a ball whacked straight towards me!
Boxgrove Priory Wedding – Shots at Golden Hour
Tom had gone for a run in the morning and mentioned some beautiful wildflower fields just a short walk away, so we had a wander through the Sussex countryside and were not disappointed! The sunlight at golden hour was magnificent, and on this flat plain of land just south of the South Downs allowed us a fantastic backdrop of stunning light on the wildflowers.
Our Boxgrove Priory wedding was graced by the melodious tunes of Murdoch’s Crazy Eyes, a live band that kept the dance floor alive and the spirits high throughout the evening.
As the festivities came to a close and the stars twinkled overhead, our Boxgrove Priory wedding left behind a trail of cherished memories. From the laughter-filled moments on the dance floor to the heartfelt exchanges of vows in the historic church, every instant was a testament to the enduring power of love and the beauty of shared moments.
In the heart of Boxgrove Priory, amidst the whispers of history, love blossomed in all its splendor.
