Professional Wedding Photography – What does a professional photographer bring to your day?
The difference that a professional wedding photographer will bring to your wedding day is the experience, equipment and technical skill that mum and her smart phone just can’t capture. It’s not just the skills and big cameras, but an understanding of what weddings are really about, and how the wedding day will run, ensuring that we’re placed in the right place, at the right time, to capture those unforgettable moments.
Hire An Experienced Wedding Photographer
I’ve worked with many brides and grooms who feel a bit nervous about having their wedding photographs taken and don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera. By hiring someone who is experienced and able to shoot beautiful wedding photography, you needn’t worry. But if you would like to get a bit more comfortable in front of the camera, why not book in an engagement shoot?
The gallery above contains some of my favourite photographs of people in love. This is ultimately all a story about two people who love each other and are celebrating a day where they declare their commitments to one another. I’ve captured so many weddings, but each one is new challenge for me to stretch my professional skills a bit further to capture some great wedding photos.
Candid, natural and reportage professional wedding photography
I love working with new people, and placing my subjects into a beautiful location, usually in East or West Sussex, or further afield, and getting them to interact with each other, more than posing and looking straight at the camera.
Each shot has a bit of influence from me, but my technique in professional wedding photography is to leave you to it, and craft light and backgrounds around you. I want the photographs to feel like real moments (even if sometimes they’re constructed by me) and my brides and grooms should always love their wedding shoot.
I also like to break the photography shoots up, rather than doing one long photo shoot, we can break things up and do small pockets of 5-10 minutes of little photo shoot at different times of the wedding day. We’ll work together to identify times that will work during the wedding day, to steal away for a beautiful wedding photo shoot.
I’ve worked in professional wedding photography for 15 years, and I’m delighted to be recognised with numerous awards, including a Licentiate with the Royal Photographic Society, as well as being awarded an ‘Excellence in Wedding Photography Award’ from the Business Awards UK and being featured in the Hitched 2023 & 2022 Awards and most recently, “The 15 Most Popular Wedding Photographers of 2023” with Hitched.co.uk
