A Laughton Barns Wedding on a bit of a blustery day! Nestled in the picturesque town of Hove, the Bishop Hannington Memorial Church set the stage for a truly magical wedding celebration. This Christian ceremony, with a modern twist, brought together 200-250 guests to witness the union of two souls. Let’s dive into the details of this joyous occasion, where love, laughter, and shades of blue filled the air.
We started with wedding prep at the family home and I loved shooting all the wedding details and bridesmaids getting ready. We had great fun, doing a bridal reveal in the main living room, whilst my second shooter, Joe took some photographs of the guys getting ready at a separate location in Brighton.
Laughton Barns Wedding – The Church Ceremony
The bride and her father arrived in style in a Mercedes. The Bishop Hannington Memorial Church, located at Nevill Ave, Hove, became the sacred space where the bride and groom exchanged their vows. I love Church weddings, they’re rooted in Christian traditions and this ceremony featured four carefully chosen songs, a heartfelt sermon, and intimate prayers. The church was adorned with elegant shades of blue, from flowers to bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen’s attire.
Large arrangements of white flowers with greenery graced the front of the church, while pew ends and little vases on window sills displayed delicate white flowers. The bride’s bouquet, a stunning combination of white flowers and blue thistles, added a touch of personal charm. After the ceremony, the couple served tea and cake at the church for the church congregation before heading off to their Laughton Barns Wedding in the Mercedes.
The Reception at Laughton Barns
Following the heartfelt ceremony, the celebration continued at Laughton Barns Wedding in Laughton Village, near Lewes. The barn is a bit of a rustic haven, featured bunting, fairy lights, and floral arrangements on each table. The colour scheme of white flowers perfectly complemented the shades of blue, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
Upon arrival at the barn, guests were treated to a lively array of fete-style games on the lawn – but the weather forecast had a strong wind so we had to be strategic to get all our shots. The guests were still keen to enjoy the games, with Spikeball and giant Jenga to 4 in a row and Mollki, laughter echoed throughout the venue.
The couple paid attention to every detail, ensuring a personalized touch throughout the celebration. Love heart packets adorned with the couple’s names and wedding date added a sweet and memorable touch for the guests. A highlight of the evening was the breathtaking three-tiered cake. A semi-naked masterpiece adorned with white buttercream and hints of blue, it served as both a visual delight and a delectable treat for all in attendance.
Despite a very windy day, we got some fantastic photographs using the entrance of Laughton Barns for the group pictures, and we were lucky to get some golden hour lighting for some photographs after the wedding breakfast.
This Bishop Hannington Memorial Church and Laughton Barns Wedding was a celebration of love, blending tradition with modernity and personal touches. This Laughton Barns wedding showcased the perfect union of two lovely people in a setting that will be remembered for a lifetime.
