A few shots from Saturday’s wedding in the countryside near the Surrey/Kent border a St Peter’s Church in the village of Tandridge. It’s definitely autumn now, with loads of brilliant colour in a day full of sunshine and great light. An honour guard kicked off the celebrations after the church ceremony.

After throwing confetti, the tree in the background was beautifully lit and perfect for a backdrop for a wedding portrait, but the added confetti pattern on the floor added a whole other dimension to this shot.

Some classic autumnal colour and light in these shots, shortly before golden hour, created a fantastic atmosphere for our portraits before dinner. Thanks to George for doing a perfect job throwing the veil up in the shot above. 

I love these floating spots of dust and flies in late summer, it’s the only time flies are very welcome at weddings.

I couldn’t quite get a full sun set photo at the foot of the North downs, so I decided to get a flash out and illuminate the foreground in this shot, balancing the exposure to capture the amazing colours in the sky.

I rarely include first dance shots in the preview, but I couldn’t resist with the elegance in their first dance (sorry, I can’t remember which song it was).

A final bit of experimentation with some fairy lights I’ve recently bought. Holding them close to the lens whilst shooting against the starlit canopy above the dance floor was a simple way of using only lighting for a background and foreground.
