A Rustic & Romantic Twilight Wedding at The BarnYard in Kent
On a beautiful day in the Kent countryside, Rebecca and Matthew tied the knot in a warm, relaxed celebration at The BarnYard, a unique rustic wedding venue in Sittingbourne. With 90 of their closest family and friends, the couple filled the day with vibrant red roses, elegant navy details, and personal touches that made their wedding truly one-of-a-kind.
I had the pleasure of capturing a The Barnyard Twilight Wedding which I haven’t done before – Grace & Michael booked under my 6-hour wedding photography package, which included everything from ceremony coverage to evening festivities, plus a pre-wedding consultation to get to know their vision beforehand.
Rebecca & Matthew’s Celebration Filled with Red Roses, Retro Touches & Orchard Views
A Red Rose Romance in a Rustic Kent Barn.
The couple chose a civil ceremony held inside the BarnYard’s beautiful barn setting, adorned with a striking red rose arch, draped with stylish white cloth and petals lining the aisle. Delicate fairy lights and rustic branches added soft charm to the ceremony space, complemented by the classic navy suits and red floral arrangements that tied the colour palette together perfectly.
After some initial shots with Grace of the dress hanging up and their dog, Lennon, getting suited up for the big occassion, we captured photos of the groom’s arrival in a white Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid, adorned with red ribbons—an eye-catching entrance that set the tone for the celebration.
The BarnYard Twilight Wedding – Personal Touches & Natural Surroundings
From the start of the BarnYard Twilight Wedding, there was no shortage of gorgeous photo opportunities. Once the couple had said “I do,” we moved through the orchard, surrounding fields, and apple barn area for natural couple portraits. Lennon joined us for some of the couple shots—an adorable part of their story.
Though the sun popped behind some cloud for golden hour, The BarnYard Twilight Wedding courtyard made for some atmospheric couple photos, with fairy lights glowing and the venue’s giant LED ‘LOVE’ letters adding a retro vibe.
The BarnYard Twilight Wedding Evening Celebrations: Speeches, Cake & Dance Floor Magic
The couple welcomed their evening guests from 7pm to The BarnYard Twilight Wedding, with the celebration moving into full swing shortly after. Speeches, a heart-shaped Lambeth cake with cherries, and the first dance followed at 7:30pm.
A buffet was served at 7:45pm, giving guests the chance to refuel before hitting the dance floor, where a lively DJ set kept the party going. I continued capturing candid shots well into the evening as guests laughed, danced, and celebrated under the soft glow of The Barnyard Twilight Wedding lights.
