Sussex Wedding Magic: A Picturesque Fitzleroi Barn Summer Wedding Ceremony
A Sussex wedding, set in the rustic charm of Fitzleroi Barn, summer wedding was every photographer’s dream. The serene countryside, with the backdrop of the South Downs National Park, combined with the love and warmth of a close-knit gathering, paints a picture-perfect setting. This blog captures one such wedding celebration, detailing the exquisite decors, the vibrant colours, and the cherished moments of the ceremony.
The Wedding Venue – Fitzleroi Barn Summer Wedding
The arrival was a classy affair. From a black BMW 5 series for the groom and his best men to a sleek classic Bentley for the bride, every car was adorned with a ribbon and bow, capturing the essence of this Fitzleroi barn summer wedding.
Fitzleroi Barn, with its quaint allure, played host to this civil ceremony. As guests settled, the barn’s cozy ambiance was brought to life by a Laura walking gracefully down the aisle with her father, two bridesmaids in tow. The groom, awaiting his bride at the altar, was flanked by two best men.
Echoing the vibrant energy of the day, bridesmaids were adorned in teal, while the groom and his entourage sported grey suits, subtly complemented by pale yellow ties and pocket squares. A floral riot of pastel pink, lilac, and yellow further added to the charm.
Sussex wedding photography
For a Sussex wedding photographer, this intimate setting presented no challenge. With a small ceremony room, there was a conscious effort to ensure that photographers didn’t overlap shots, as I had a second shooter with me for this wedding. The couple’s foresight ensured that the cherished moments were captured without hindrance.
Decor
Long Room & Gallery: A blend of old and new, the Long Room showcased board games for guests, while the Gallery upstairs featured a DIY ‘photo booth’.
Memorable Touches: A beautifully decorated ladder in the Long Room showcased couple photos, while the courtyard was adorned with easels holding table plans. Blackboards, signs, decorative legos, and a special memory table added to the unique décor.
Centrepieces: Old books, jam jars filled with gypsophila, and table names transformed each table into a work of art.
Opting for sustainable choices, the venue was adorned with artificial flowers. The bride’s bouquet, a blend of peonies, gerberas, roses, and freesias, was sentimentally tied with a piece from her mum’s veil. Meanwhile, the groom’s buttonhole and those of the groomsmen featured roses in soft hues.
Treats & Eats
Guests were treated to small cellophane bags filled with delectable fudge pieces. And, the cake! A 3-tiered marvel designed as giant lego bricks, it was displayed near the dancefloor before serving, accompanied by mouthwatering platters of brownies.
This Sussex wedding, set in the heart of Fitzleroi Barn, was a blend of tradition, personal touches, and contemporary flair. It’s a testament to the idea that every couple can turn their wedding into a unique celebration, a canvas of their shared journey, and the many stories that lie ahead.
