Trafalgar Tavern Wedding – Alex & Kieran
Table of Contents
A Trafalgar Tavern wedding is always something special – this iconic Greenwich pub, perched right on the River Thames, is steeped in history and offers some of the best views in London. Recently, I had the joy of photographing Alex & Kieran’s wedding here, a day filled with elegant details, heartfelt moments, and so much laughter.
Bridal & Groom Preparations
The morning began with Alex getting ready upstairs in the Trafalgar Tavern, surrounded by her bridesmaids. Hair and make-up were beautifully done by Tamara West (@glambytam), while the bouquets – soft pastel flowers with hints of blue and orange – were created by Ellen Chatelain (@fl.owl_studio). The olive-green bridesmaid dresses perfectly complemented the whimsical florals and tied the whole look together.
Kieran arrived early at the Trafalgar Tavern to meet his groomsmen and for a refreshing G&T. I captured those fun, relaxed moments as they fitted bow ties and got ready together at the venue before guests began to arrive. We popped down the the Old Naval College for a couple of group photos by the Thames.
Trafalgar Tavern Ceremony
The ceremony room at the Trafalgar Tavern looked stunning with its whimsical florals and minimal foliage. A three-piece string band, City String Trio, played as Alex made her entrance with her father, bouquet in hand, walking down the aisle to join Kieran.
It was a non-religious civil ceremony, intimate and heartfelt. Their vows were full of emotion, and as Alex & Kieran were showered in confetti after walking back up the aisle, the atmosphere was pure joy. Guests then gathered on the terrace overlooking the Thames for a big group photo before we rushed to beat the weather and get some more shots outside the Royal Naval College.
Trafalgar Tavern Reception
Inside, the Trafalgar Tavern’s grand rooms hosted the reception. Guests mingled to the couple’s carefully curated Spotify playlists during drinks and dinner, creating a relaxed and personal atmosphere.
Speeches followed – from the Father of the Bride, Kieran, and the Best Man – before everyone enjoyed cocktails after dinner. The cake was bought out for cutting, a simple yet classic white cake topped with fresh raspberries – elegant, understated, and perfectly in keeping with Alex & Kieran’s style.
As evening guests arrived, the photobooth opened for fun snapshots while the dancefloor came alive. Alex & Kieran’s first dance set the tone, full of spontaneity and laughter, before the incredible Truly Medley Deeply (@tmd_band) kept the celebrations going long into the night – they even let the Bride & Groom have a go on the mic!
Golden Hour & Evening Photos
We always planned to slip away at golden hour for couple portraits around Greenwich, but the rain finally caught up with us, so instead we popped out into the cobbled streets and captured a classic rain photo.
From the Naval College to the pub frontage draped in bunting, every backdrop told part of their story. We also used the Trafalgar Tavern balcony for some breathtaking shots over the Thames – with Canary Wharf and the O2 lit up in the distance.
These portraits were a highlight of the day, giving Alex & Kieran a few quiet moments together before diving back into the party.
A Perfect Trafalgar Tavern Wedding
Alex & Kieran’s Trafalgar Tavern wedding was everything a London celebration should be – stylish, relaxed, and brimming with personality. From the heartfelt ceremony to the buzzing evening reception, every detail reflected them perfectly.
The Trafalgar Tavern remains one of my favourite London wedding venues: steeped in history, full of charm, and with those unbeatable river views.
