Wotton House Wedding Ceremony
Our photo shoot began shortly before the wedding ceremony, and this takes place at the old library at Wooton house, a remarkable room with columns in vaulted ceilings in homage to classical Gothic architecture. Gold pillars adorned with exquisite floral arrangements framed the aisle, leading to a ceremony table crowned with a breathtaking display. Rows of seats were arranged for the guests to witness the union in an intimate setting, creating an atmosphere of romance and elegance.
The couple’s chosen colour scheme of whites and creams, accentuated with light purples and sage green, permeated every detail. From the floral arrangements to the table settings, the palette exuded sophistication and charm, seamlessly blending with the historic backdrop of Wotton House.

Wotton house is a photographers dream, the gardens are stunning, with a Fountain set in the middle against an Italian structure with classic columns reminiscent of antiquity. The summer sunshine shine all day, allowing us to explore both the Italian gardens and the approach to the house, where a tree-lined Avenue, created some wonderful symmetry for our couple shots. After the speeches, I’d got a wonderful shot from above the Italian Gardens as Sonja and Craig practiced their first dance.
Wotton House Wedding Reception
During the welcome drinks reception, guests enjoyed delightful lawn games, adding a touch of fun to the celebration. Icebreaker activities at the tables during the wedding breakfast created a warm and inviting atmosphere, ensuring that everyone felt a part of the joyous occasion.
The couple curated a musical experience that resonated throughout the day. A harpist set the tone during the ceremony and welcome drinks, transitioning to a guitar and vocalist back in the old library, whilst the Evelyn Suite was prepared the evening dancing. Guests were treated to a cocktail hour in the Old Library after the wedding speeches. The evening reception came alive with a DJ, ensuring that the dance floor remained a hub of celebration well into the night.
The Evelyn Suite, hosting the wedding breakfast, featured seven circular tables adorned with seasonal floral arrangements, tea light candles, and candlesticks. The top table boasted the ceremony’s grand floral centerpiece, creating a visual continuity that tied the day together. Large rings of flowers adorned the light fixtures, while foam signs added a personalized touch to the table plan and welcome sign.
Guests were treated to small bags of mini chocolates as part of their table settings, a sweet gesture that added a delectable touch to the celebration. The couple’s two-tier cake, adorned with fresh fruit, featured a personalised cake topper with their names and small figures, capturing the essence of their love.
To foster a sense of togetherness, the couple introduced a livestreaming photo gallery during the wedding breakfast. This innovative idea allowed guests to share moments captured on their mobile phones, creating a dynamic visual display that added a modern twist to the traditional festivities.
