This Ashdown Park Hotel Wedding has a Disney theme! Lisa & Scott’s East Sussex Wedding in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is one of my favourite Hotel Weddings. We started the wedding day at their family home in Crawley for the bridal prep photos.
These baby pink and grey colours of the flower bouquet were a recurrent theme throughout the wedding decor. The ceremony was held in the chapel of Ashdown Park, a stunning building which features multiple rooms to suit the wedding day. The ceremony was on the ground floor, leaving the mezzanine to be adorned with all of the Disney themed decorations for the wedding breakfast.
Ashdown Park Hotel Wedding Photography
They’d hired a Rolls Royce Phantom, which was part of our first set of Bride & Groom portraits outside the front of the hotel. Lisa & Scott went for a quick drive in the car and a glass of bubbly, before coming back to the hotel. This stunning car was parked underneath the arches of the hotel entrance, which was also a helpful place to control the light in these shots.
After a few wedding group photographs on the hotel’s terrace, which over looks the East Sussex countryside and the blissful fields of Ashdown forest, we also went down to the lake at the bottom of the hotel gardens and explored the secret garden of Ashdown Park!
The wedding reception was furnished with fairy lights, drapes & flowers and had favours that were Disney-inspired Cinderella carriages containing chocolate mice and Alice in Wonderland drink me bottles. The wedding cake was also phenomenal, obviously, a 3-tier cake with a Disney inspired castle on top! There was a live pianist for civil ceremony and DJ for Evening. Ashdown Park Hotel also laid on garden games during the drinks reception.
Ashdown Park Hotel Chapel
Around the chapel building of Ashdown Park Hotel, where the wedding reception was held under the ornate gothic architecture, We stole away to take advantage of the golden hour lighting and the lavender flowers made a nice additional element to the foreground in some of the photographs below. They had also bought a couple of confetti cannons, which we let off for a brilliant shot around the hotel grounds with some off camera flash.
The first dance was brilliantly choreographed, and Lisa & Scott are certainly talented dancers! Lisa’s gown flowed gracefully across the dance floor in the chapel.
For our final photographs, we had a bit of fun with some sparklers and the Gothic archway entrance to the chapel grounds. A couple of flashguns behind the couple illuminated this shot and the symmetrical windows on either side of the archway. View the full wedding online here.
