Nicolle & Stephen’s wedding photography from St Nicholas’ Church in Remenham, just down the road from Henley-on-Thames. The day started with a lot of rain in the morning, but we were truly lucky that just as we left the church the rain stopped for the photography!
Just down from the church there’s access to the Thames and you can see Temple Island in the background of this photo. Stephen & Nicole took a small boat along the Thames for a little cruise down to the reception at Phyllis Court Club in Henley.
As it had been raining, the water was completely clear, and we were almost the only people out by the water!
The boat pulled into the dock at Phyllis Court club for the wedding reception. The dock over looks the town of Henley, and was the perfect place for our first wedding portrait at the venue.
What a difference the light makes. This bridge over a small canal off the side of the Thames at the venue was a great place for bridal portraits and we shot a couple curing the day walking along the river bank. As th light faded, my second shooter and I used off camera flash to illuminate the bridge and get these great shots in some very light rain. The atmosphere created by the backlighting was amazing, and made up for the lack of golden hour lighting earlier in the evening. The symmetry of these compositions made me really happy with these wedding photos!
