A few preview photographs from yesterday’s wedding at Westerham Golf Club. This winter wedding in Kent was blessed with perfect golden hour lighting at just the right time of day. The woodland surrounding the golf course created stunning patterns light in the bokeh of the lens in these wedding portraits.
Kenny & Cassie used a golf cart to travel around the course and this beautiful lake was a great location for wedding photography. The open space meant we captured some of low winter sun against the backdrop of trees and the light on the wedding couple created crisp reflections in the water for the shot below.
Cassie used a vintage Jaguar to travel to the golf course from their home in South London. They’d parked in the car park below (yes, it’s a car park) whilst waiting for their guests to take their seats for the wedding ceremony and I thought the bare trees made for a great background to shoot portraits later. I was amazed to find that it was the perfect spot for golden hour wedding portraits, and the golden sun was perfect to add some colour to this otherwise grey and brown wintery scene. The dappled golden light through the trees made this the most beautiful car park I had ever seen.
To round off their amazing winter wedding at Westerham, a fireworks display over the golf course was put on for part of the evening entertainment. Here’s two of the most successful shots from the fireworks, using a flash gun to backlight the couple in front of the display.
