Pangdean Barn weddings are some of my favourite weddings, ever! Situated in Pyecombe, which is just a few minutes away from Brighton, is nestled amongst the beautiful Sussex countryside right at the foot of the magnificent South Downs. This Sussex wedding venue is perfect for a rustic themed wedding, the barn interior is covered in fairylights and the gardens are beautifully kept, with an option of getting married outside under some apples trees if the weather is nice.
This Pangdean Barn wedding ceremony in August was in the garden amongst the apple trees.
The barn rafters are flooded with fairy lights, a romantic place to end your wedding day with dancing and drinks with friends and family.
Pangdean Old Barn, to give it it’s full name, offers an authentic barn/farm themed wedding, with 18th century flint buildings amongst the modern farm buildings surrounding the tiny hamlet of Pyecombe. The venue offers exclusive use of the venue for your wedding and there are some fantastic locations for wedding photography in this Sussex location. As it’s right in the heart of the South Downs, the surrounding hills and fields are big feature used for backgrounds for wedding photography at Pangdean Barn.
Nicky and her team have been wonderful to work with over the years, and they’ve gotten their venue co-ordination honed down to perfection and their in house catering service is highly recommended! They also have a great location for capturing a large group photo of everyone from the main farmhouse window. Pangdean Barn is a fully licensed wedding venue for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. This historic, rural setting is perfect for weddings in Brighton & Sussex.
The flint walled gardens of Pangdean Barn and the well-kept flower beds and herb garden around the stables and barn help give this venue a traditional feel. In early spring, there are plenty of daffodils and blossom on the trees, before summer swings into full bloom and the garden really comes alive.
Sussex & South Downs National Park Wedding Photography
I love using the surrounding South Downs around Pangdean Barn for some amazing countryside wedding photography. Last time, we even took my little car up onto the downs via a dirt track so that we could capture the amazing landscape for this shot at golden hour.
There are plenty of safe spaces for children (or adults) to play in the gardens.
The rustic barn doors and flint buildings make for some great backdrops for wedding photographs.
