Deans Place Wedding in Alfriston, East Sussex
This Deans Place Wedding took place in the charming village of Alfriston in East Sussex, the village sets the stage for a wedding that is both enchanting and unforgettable. Today, we delve into the details of a recent celebration at this idyllic venue, where love, laughter, and joy seamlessly blended against the backdrop of a stunning outdoor ceremony.
Deans Place Wedding Ceremony
One of the unique highlights of this Deans Place wedding was the non-religious outdoor ceremony, performed by an appointed East Sussex registrar. The couple exchanged vows under the gazebo and a brilliant blue sky, surrounded by the lush greenery and natural beauty that the venue provides.
The wedding party added a burst of colour to the celebration, with bridesmaids elegantly donning jade dresses and groomsmen sporting stylish blue suits paired with floral shirts. The overall theme incorporated neutral colours with pops of blue, creating a visually stunning atmosphere that complemented the venue’s natural beauty. The Bride’s mum had also hand-made the buttonholes and accessory belt for the dress with crocheted flowers.
My favourite photographs featured the gardens of the hotel, and exploring a bit further along the Cuckmere river to get the South Downs National Park in the background – a surprisingly interesting photo taken in the car park, where a large puddle had formed to create a beautiful reflection of the brilliant blue sky of this summer wedding.
Deans Place Wedding Reception
The couple opted for a variety of entertainment options on the lawns of this Deans Place Wedding. Garden games like Giant Jenga and Ring Toss added a playful touch, sparking laughter and friendly competition among guests.
For the wedding breakfast, the couple opted for a relaxed buffet-style meal, allowing guests to savour a variety of delicious dishes. The evening guests were welcomed between 7 pm and 7:30 pm, ensuring that everyone had ample time to indulge in the culinary delights provided.
The wedding cake was a three-tiered masterpiece, featuring a non-traditional blend of Christmas Cake and Lemon Drizzle. Baked with love and care, it added a sweet touch to the festivities. As a unique and personal touch, the couple chose to give pin badges from the Falkland Islands as favours, symbolising their shared experiences and adventures on the other side of the world. You’ll notice the penguins on the top of the wedding cake!
The venue came alive with the warm glow of fairy lights and the fragrance of fresh flowers adorning each table. The overall decor exuded elegance and charm, creating a magical ambiance that resonated with the joyous occasion.
The first dance
At 8 pm, the couple’s first dance marked the transition from the live band to the DJ, creating a seamless blend of musical experiences for the guests. A couple of cheeky groomsmen had arranged a surprise, confetti cannon to go off during the middle of the first dance!
As the evening unfolded, a live band serenaded the crowd during the first hour, setting the perfect tone for the celebration. Following that, a DJ took over, ensuring the dance floor remained lively until the wee hours of the night.
In the heart of East Sussex, Deans Place played host to a wedding that was nothing short of magical.
