A Rustic & Romantic Brookfield Barn Wedding | James & Victoria

This Brookfield Barn Wedding was amazing – Brookfield Barn has always been one of my favourite West Sussex venues – with its idyllic lakeside gazebo, rolling fields, and twinkling barn interior, it’s perfect for a relaxed and personal celebration. James and Victoria’s Brookfield Barn wedding was no exception – a beautiful, rustic day filled with heartfelt moments, thoughtful touches, and joyful surprises I including a golf cart race!

The Brookfield Barn Wedding ceremony took place outdoors by the lake, under the wooden gazebo, with the sun shining down as Victoria made her way across the driveway in a golf buggy – a charming Brookfield Barn Wedding tradition! Her father walked her down the aisle, setting the tone for a day full of family connections and personal stories. The ceremony featured two readings by loved ones and ended with a fun twist – as the couple exited, they paused for a romantic dip kiss, which they’d practised to perfection and made for a gorgeous photo moment.

The colour palette was understated and elegant, with sage green bridesmaid dresses and floral arrangements in soft whites and pinks. Bud & Flower worked their magic with roses, peonies, gypsophila, and eucalyptus, which lined the aisle and adorned the rustic barn interior with effortless beauty.

The styling was minimal and meaningful – sage green runners, bud vases and fairy-lit gin bottles decorated the tables, while each table number featured sweet snapshots of James and Victoria “when we were” different ages. Personalised wine cork name holders doubled as favours, alongside flower seed packets and a late-evening “his and hers” sweets station.

After the ceremony, garden games like Jenga, Molkky, and Cornhole kept guests entertained on the lawn, while the drinks flowed and laughter filled the air. The evening celebration brought even more magic – with fairy lights wrapped around the barn beams, the built in Brookfield Barn Wedding Photobooth and guestbook setup, firepits with marshmallows for toasting and pizzas served from a traditional pizza oven, and a DJ set from Ian Forest that had everyone on the dancefloor.

The rustic wedding cake by Harry Batten, decorated with pink and green blooms, looked stunning against the barn’s timber backdrop. And, to get all the guests to enjoy the fantastic scenery of the venue, we arranged a shot of guests running through the field next to the golf buggy – a fun and energetic moment that perfectly captured the spirit of the day.

One of the highlights of the evening was a surprise choreographed dance by Victoria and her dad – something he had secretly been preparing for weeks! They performed just before the sparkler exit at 8.30pm, which was the perfect way to end the shoot and some glowing photos!

Congratulations to James and Victoria – your day was a joy to capture from start to finish. Here’s to many more dips, dances, and marshmallows together!
